Poreč
Poreč is located on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula; the town, which is almost two thousand years old, is located in a port protected from the sea by the island of Sveti Nikola; it is only a five minute pleasant boat ride from Poreč; the island abounds in its wild but carefully maintained beaches, lush vegetation and fantastic views of the open sea. The biggest historical attraction of Poreč is the Euphrasian Basilica from the 6th century located in the old town. The interior of the basilica is open to visitors every day, and the bell tower of the basilica offers a spectacular view of Poreč and its surroundings. The main streets in the old town of Porec still retain their ancient shape and layout of the ancient Roman castrum, and other attractions include Marafor Square with the remains of the Temple of Neptune and the Romanesque House, and the Pentagonal Tower and Round Tower. The city of Poreč is full of culinary surprises. The gastronomic offer is very rich and high quality. The inevitable gastronomic specialty is the famous Istrian prosciutto, which owes its taste to the good Istrian climate and unique way of preparation, while the other specialty is Istrian fuži, homemade pasta, usually prepared with top quality truffles. A walk through Poreč is interesting at any time of the day, but in the evening it is truly magical. Everything is teeming with life and people, fun can be found at literally every turn. Numerous souvenir shops, shops, restaurants, pastry shops, and if that's not enough you can enjoy the view of the yachts in the port. The shop where masks are produced and sold is certainly one of the most interesting. Beautiful examples of rich and imaginative masks can be tried and bought. These masks are even exported to Venice for their famous carnival and where they are of course advertised as "Venetian", and are actually produced here in Poreč Each mask is handmade and painted unique. Poreč has an extremely rich offer of evening entertainment for all generations.
